  • TD Bank can use open source software, it can produce high quality, reliable, and low cost software that it can control. It’s also more flexible and can be easily changed as opposed to proprietary software.
  • TD Bank can lower its costs by utilizing the cloud for things like data storage, processing services, networking, and other computing resources to operate their banking information systems. With this TD Banks can reduce their ownership of expensive servers, hardware, and software maintenance and upgrading, and databases. 

  • TD Bank can also increase their implementation of the latest technology. One example is the use on mobile devices in place of physical debit or credit cards to make transactions. This technology is already used by many other companies and services, of which TD can model and improve on.
